This Privacy Policy describes how Babak Sameul Sadri, the developer ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you use the FairShift mobile application ("App").

By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

Information You Provide

The App allows you to input the following types of information:

  • Team Member Information: Names and optional color preferences for team members

  • Schedule Categories: Shift category names, point values, and colors

  • Calendar Data: Shift assignments and time-off requests

  • Project Names: Names you assign to saved schedules

Important: All data you enter into the App is stored locally on your device. We do not collect, transmit, or store your scheduling data on our servers.

Information Collected Automatically

Device Information

We may collect certain information automatically, including:

  • Device type and model

  • Operating system version

  • App version

  • General usage statistics

Advertising Data (Free Tier Only)

If you use the free version of the App, we display non-personalized advertisements through Google AdMob. These ads may use:

  • Device identifier (for ad delivery and frequency capping)

  • IP address (for general geographic targeting)

  • General location (country/region)

  • Ad interaction data (to measure ad performance)

We do not track you across apps or websites. See "Third-Party Advertising" section below for more details.

Information We Do NOT Collect

  • Personal contact information (email, phone, address)

  • Real names of your team members (we have no way to know if names entered are real)

  • Financial information (subscriptions are handled by Apple)

  • Location data

  • Photos or media

How We Use Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide and maintain the App's functionality

  • Process your scheduling requests locally on your device

  • Display relevant advertisements (free tier only)

  • Improve and optimize the App

  • Analyze usage patterns to enhance user experience

Data Storage and Security

Local Storage

All your scheduling data (team members, categories, calendars, saved projects) is stored locally on your device using standard iOS data storage mechanisms. This data is:

  • Stored only on your device

  • Not transmitted to our servers

  • Not accessible by us

  • Deleted when you uninstall the App (unless backed up through iCloud)

iCloud Backup

If you have iCloud Backup enabled on your device, your App data may be included in your device backup. This is controlled by your device settings, not by us.

Third-Party Services

Apple Services

The App uses Apple services for:

  • App Store: App distribution and updates

  • StoreKit: Subscription management and payment processing

  • iCloud: Optional device backup (if enabled by you)

Apple's handling of your data is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.

Third-Party Advertising (Free Tier Only)

The free version of the App displays non-personalized advertisements through Google AdMob.

 

We do not request tracking permission or use your device's advertising identifier (IDFA) to track you across apps or websites. Ads shown are contextual and non-personalized.

 

AdMob may collect limited information for ad delivery:

  • Device identifier (not IDFA)

  • IP address

  • Interaction with ads

You can opt out of personalized advertising by:

  1. Going to Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking on your iOS device

  1. Disabling "Allow Apps to Request to Track"

Analytics

We may use analytics services to understand how the App is used. These services collect aggregated, anonymized data about App usage patterns.

Subscriptions and Payments

Premium subscriptions are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We do not collect, process, or store any payment information. All billing is handled by Apple according to their terms and privacy policy.

Children's Privacy

The App is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us.

Your Rights and Choices

Data Deletion

Since all your data is stored locally on your device, you have full control over it:

  • Delete individual projects within the App

  • Delete all App data by uninstalling the App

  • Manage iCloud backup settings on your device

  • ​

Advertising Preferences

  • Upgrade to FairShift Premium for an ad-free experience

  • Our free version displays only non-personalized ads

Do Not Track

The App does not respond to "Do Not Track" signals because we do not track users across third-party websites or services.

California Privacy Rights (CCPA)

If you are a California resident, you have the right to:

  • Know what personal information we collect

  • Request deletion of your personal information

  • Opt out of the sale of your personal information

We do not sell your personal information.

Since your data is stored locally on your device and we do not have access to it, you already have full control over your information.

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), you have certain rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR):

  • Right to Access: Request access to your personal data

  • Right to Rectification: Request correction of inaccurate data

  • Right to Portability: Request transfer of your data

  • Right to Object: Object to processing of your data

Since your scheduling data is stored locally on your device and not on our servers, you have direct control over your data. To exercise rights related to any data we may collect through analytics or advertising, please contact us.

Legal Basis for Processing: Where applicable, we process data based on:

  • Your consent (for displaying advertising)

  • Legitimate interests (for App improvement and analytics)

  • Contract performance (to provide the App's functionality)

Data Retention

  • Local Data: Retained on your device until you delete it or uninstall the App

  • Analytics Data: Aggregated analytics data may be retained for up to 24 months

  • Advertising Data: Governed by the respective advertising partner's retention policies

International Data Transfers

If you use the App outside the United States, please be aware that information may be transferred to and processed in the United States, where data protection laws may differ from those in your country.
